Trench @ NWPPA Conference 2019

Trench Canada attended the Northwest Public Power Association (NWPPA) Engineering & Operations Conference in Spokane, WA on April 9-11, 2019. The NWPPA is an association of over 150 public power districts, electric cooperatives and municipalities in the western United States and Canada.

At the NWPPA Exhibition, Trench Canada presented new solutions to safely and economically powered remote substations using our Trench Power Voltage Transformer (TPVT). For many of the public power utilities attending the conference, a major concern is finding an economical and reliable source to power relays, battery banks and other equipment inside their substation control houses. Most often with remote substations, there are no nearby distribution lines to bring into the substation for power. This is where Trench’s TPVT offers a unique solution by combining the attributes of an inductive voltage transformer with the output of a small power transformer to connect directly to transmission lines and provide low voltage power in the range of 100kVA.

Trench Canada’s technical personnel was available to answer questions from utility lineman, operation and engineering personnel. We look forward to next year’s conference in Reno, NV. If you have any questions about the TPVT, please email
