Trench France S.A.S.

The company was founded in 1904 near Basel (Switzerland) by Emil Haefely, an inventor of many important processes which played a decisive role in the development of the electrotechnical industry at beginning of the 20th century.

The company quickly extended its activities in the fields of Capacitors, Instrument Transformers, Bushings and Equipments for Test Systems under high and ultra high voltage.

In 1921 the company set up its facilities also in Saint-Louis, France.

At the beginning of the nineties Haefely merged with Trench Electric and Spezielektra to form the Haefely Trench Group. In 1999 Trench France S.A.S., still keeping an office in Basel, became the new head corporation.

In 2017, the Trench Group focused its European operations and Trench France has transferred the Instrument transformers business to Trench Italy.

Today Trench France S.A.S. is focusing on Bushings and has significantly improved its operational performance based on improved processes and significant investments into the manufacturing.
